Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 August 2026
Who we are
Novo ("we", "us") is operated by an independent developer based in Australia. No separate corporate entity has been established for Novo; the developer acts as the data controller for the purposes of this policy, which will be updated with formal entity details upon incorporation. Contact: privacy@usenovo.social.
What we collect
This website's function is limited to the waitlist form. Submitting it provides:
- Email address: used to provide notice when Novo is ready.
- Interest: whether "personal" or "family" was selected, indicating which mode is of interest.
- Platforms: optionally, which social apps (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Snapchat, Facebook) were selected as of interest, used to prioritise development.
No accounts, child profiles, subscriptions, or usage data are collected through this website; those pertain to the Novo application itself. This website does not use cookies, analytics, or visitor tracking (see "Cookies & tracking" below).
Children's privacy
This website does not knowingly collect information about children. Use of the waitlist is intended for adults. Selecting "family" records an interest in Novo's family mode; it does not request or store information about children.
The Novo application's family mode is intended to operate on a parent-managed model: child profiles created, edited, and controlled exclusively by a verified parent account holder, with children neither authenticating nor providing information directly. This model, and the corresponding privacy policy, will apply upon the application's launch and is intended to align with the parental-consent requirements of the United States Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code, and the Australian Privacy Principles as they relate to children.
How we use your data
- To send a one-time confirmation email when you join the waitlist.
- To provide notice by email when Novo is available.
- To assess, in aggregate, demand for personal versus family use and for individual platforms, informing development priorities.
Email addresses are not used for any other purpose, are not used for advertising, and are not sold or rented to any party.
Providing an email address is voluntary. Declining to do so means we cannot add you to the waitlist or notify you at launch.
Legal basis for processing
Where the UK/EU GDPR applies, the legal basis for collecting and using your email address is consent, given by submitting the waitlist form. Consent may be withdrawn at any time, without effect on any other matter, by emailing privacy@usenovo.social and requesting removal. See "Your rights" below.
Third parties we rely on
This site relies on a small number of infrastructure providers, each acting as a processor:
- Supabase: stores waitlist signups (email address, interest, and any platforms selected) in a database hosted in Singapore. The database is configured to accept new signups only; it cannot be used to read other users' information.
- Cloudflare: hosts this website via its global network. Cloudflare, Inc. is based in the United States.
- Resend: sends the one-time waitlist confirmation email on our behalf. Resend, Inc. is based in the United States.
No third-party advertising networks are used. Personal information is not sold or shared, as those terms are defined under the CCPA.
Data retention
The email address and interest submitted are retained until a launch invitation is sent or removal is requested.
Your rights
Depending on jurisdiction, applicable rights may include the right to know what personal information is held, and to access, correct, export, or delete it, and to object to or restrict certain processing, under the UK/EU GDPR, the Australian Privacy Act 1988, and applicable US state privacy laws such as the CCPA/CPRA. As personal information is not sold or shared, no "opt-out of sale" applies; processing may nonetheless be stopped on request. No individual will be treated adversely for exercising any of these rights. To exercise a right over the email address and interest provided, email privacy@usenovo.social. Requests will be answered within 30 days.
How to complain
Concerns about the handling of personal information should be directed to privacy@usenovo.social in the first instance. A complaint may also be lodged with the relevant data protection regulator, including the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk), the Australian Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au), or the equivalent authority in another jurisdiction.
International data transfers
Infrastructure providers process and store data outside Australia: the Supabase database for this site is hosted in Singapore, and Cloudflare and Resend both operate globally from the United States. Cross-border transfers of this kind rely on each provider's own safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.
Security
Industry-standard measures are used to protect data, including encryption in transit and row-level access controls on the database. No system is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed; reasonable steps are taken to protect information provided to this site.
Cookies & tracking
This website does not use cookies, analytics, or visitor-tracking technology, and makes no requests to any third party other than Supabase (to submit the waitlist form) and Cloudflare (which serves the site itself).
Changes to this policy
This policy will be updated as Novo develops, most significantly upon the application's launch, at which point it will need to address accounts, child profiles, and subscriptions, and upon incorporation of the underlying business. The "Last updated" date above will be revised accordingly.
